International Day of Forests
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March the International Day of Forests in 2012 to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests. Countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns.

The 62nd session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD62) will focus on “Fostering social development and social justice through social policies to accelerate progress on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and to achieve the overarching goal of poverty eradication”.
ECOSOC Partnership Forum
The 2024 Partnership Forum of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) will be held on 30 January 2024 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York under the theme of “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions”. The Forum will place a special emphasis on the Sustainable Development Goals that will be reviewed at the 2024 HLPF, namely Goal 1 (no poverty); Goal 2 (zero hunger); Goal 13 (climate action); Goal 16 (peace and justice); and Goal 17 (partnership for the Goals).
Special Meeting of the Economic and Social Council on the future of work
The ECOSOC will convene a special meeting of the Council on “The future of work: towards a productive, inclusive and sustainable global society to take place on 23-24 January 2024 at the Headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago, Chile.

International Human Solidarity Day
International Human Solidarity Day is celebrated annually on December 20th. It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005, with the intention of promoting the values of solidarity and cooperation among people across the globe.
International Day of Persons With Disabilities
The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992, by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3. The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities. It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
