Business leaders gather to find solutions for the SDGs
COVID-19 has had a devastating impact on the outlook for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) globally. Food, fuel and energy prices are skyrocketing as a result of the war in Ukraine. Heat waves and drought have had consequential effects on consumption and production processes across the globe.
How can responsible businesses navigate the current multiple crises while contributing to the long-term success of building a more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient world within the planetary boundaries?
As one of the largest and most prestigious annual high-level events of business leaders at the United Nations, the 7th SDG Business Forum will again be jointly convened by UN DESA, UN Global Compact and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). This year’s forum will be organized virtually on 21 September during Uniting Business Live, a series of business-focused events in the margins of the High-Level Week of the 77th Session of the General Assembly.
The 7th SDG Business Forum will provide a platform for meaningful dialogue among business leaders on co-creating lasting solutions for the SDGs with the goal of stimulating major sustainability announcements from businesses and corporations. Participants will also hear from members of the Independent Group of Scientists appointed by the Secretary-General to draft the upcoming 2023 Global Sustainable Development Report (GSDR), one of only two reports mandated to inform the mid-term review of the 2030 Agenda next year.
All those interested are welcome to register through this link. The virtual event platform will offer real-time networking opportunities among participants.
