On the margins of the Second World Summit on Social Development (WSSD2), UN DESA, in partnership with Global Youth Philanthropy (GYP), held a Solutions Session side event entitled “Empowering Youth, Transforming Work: Global Solutions for Decent Employment.” The event brought together youth leaders from the private sector and civil society with members of the UN High-level Advisory Board on Economic and Social Affairs (HLAB) to explore concrete, scalable solutions that can unlock decent work opportunities for young people everywhere, for the benefit of everyone.

In support of the "UN Disability and Development Report 2024", UN DESA held a Global Policy Dialogue on 17 December 2024 with stakeholders involved in developing the report as well as voices that elevate the issues of persons with disabilities in the context of sustainable development. The report presented the most recent global analysis based on an unprecedented amount of data, legislation and policies from all countries to understand the socio-economic circumstances of persons with disabilities worldwide, progress made so far and the challenges and barriers they still face.
